Iris has joined the Crew of the Princess of Pele at the age of 13, following her rescue from a stranded evacuation pod. Prior her induction into the crew, she’s believed to be part of slave trading network, born and bred to be sold as menial crew member, or more likely, to pleasure palaces. Neither the pod, nor the extra body, provided sufficient evidence to track back its origin.

Iris has developed a dissociative identity disorder, suspected to be related to the harshness of her childhood, and daily occurrence of trauma inducing events. Since her first day aboard the ship, she’s remained a withdrawn woman, preferring cold isolation and introspection rather than the warmth of social gatherings. Despite some level of mistrust from certain crewmembers, largely associated to the misunderstanding of her condition, she’s integrated well enough to strive and contribute equally to the daily operations. She’s been assigned to the hydroponic farms under Darwin’s supervision, mainly due to the low human presence in these parts of the ships.

From day one she’s been monitored by Tano, in order to help her understand her traumas, and avoid complete mental meltdown. While Iris can claim major achievements in her recovery, her mental health remains fragile and dependent on her ability to remain cool headed.

Now 19 years old, she’s been trained to join out of ship operations. Despite some protests, she’s been trained as a demolition expert, and equipped with a light exoskeleton. This enables her to not only carry large amounts of explosives, but to wield a heavy flamer without physical strain. Thanks to her training and gear, she’s able to surgically cut paths though doors and bulkheads. Her heavy flamer’s mastery allows her to perform within the tight confines of ship corridors, bringing close range heavy weapon capabilities during fighting encounters.
